STRING COVERS
Protect your Grand Piano with a 100% Wool String Cover
1. Carefully unpack the string cover from its packaging.
2. Take the music desk/rack off of the piano. Most will simply slide out the front of the piano. Open the piano lid.
Note: You may have to remove some screws as some the older models had these to "hold down" the music rack.
3. Place the string cover on the floor with the battens facing down. Note: The cover doesn’t “attach” to you piano it simply lies across the harp and strings.
4. Look at the two sides which are cut on a straight line and face the straight sides on the left and the curved side towards the right.
5. Now starting at front of the piano place the string cover inside and walk it in along the curved side.
Note: The string covers are purposely cut and made so it will cover to the edges of the rim covering all of the sound board area and pin block. The part covering the pin block can be folded back for tuning purposes.
6. Replace the music rack/desk.
The string cover can stay inside the piano without hampering the sound even while you are playing it. Of course, you can lift it up or out to show how beautiful the inside of you piano, soundboard, strings, and harp looks.
We suggest that once in a while you take it out, remove the battens and shake it outside to remove some of the dust.
Because this is 100% wool it should only be dry cleaned and not washed.
Available in Black, Burgundy, Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Tan, Royal Blue, Medium Blue or White. Covers have serged edges and decorative stitches are sewn in a single or double row. Also available with no decorative stitching

WHY DO PIANO TECHNICIANS RECOMMEND
AND USE
DAWSON STRING COVERS?
1. It is 100% wool, proven the best material to protect the inside of your piano from temperature and humidity changes. It also hinders rust and corrosion of the crucial parts of your piano such as the strings, tuning pins, hitch pins and other crucial metal parts. Note: If synthetic material is used and not 100% wool it can cause more damage than good holding in humidity and shorten the life of your piano.
2. It protects from dust which collects on the soundboard and strings and can dampen the tone and sound of your piano.
